I started teaching at local club in November with an average of 5 attendees. Since then, I lost one more advanced stepper, and I now average 8 regular attendees. (This is a high number for this club.) My regulars tell me they prefer not to exceed 126 bpm and request simple choreography. They complain that other classes are too fast and they can't attend. Classes that I teach in other clubs where the participants are more advanced, I do not increase tempo. I encourage them to increase step height because they can count on me not exceeding 126 bpm. I teach more complex choreography in those classes where the MAJORITY of participants can follow. I remind experienced participants how to increase intensity and I teach options.
